Allen Blakemore's creative talents earned the firm a prestigious Pollie Award from the American Association of Political Consultants.
As head of the fundraising division, Elizabeth Blakemore's clients include national, state and local political committees and international and state charitable and tax exempt foundations and organizations.
“You end up with some people who say, ‘Heck, I’m just going to call it all consulting and none of it lobbying,’” said Allen Blakemore, a Houston-based campaign consultant. “They don’t make a disclosure. That is clearly not what the law intended.”
Other firms nationwide play similar roles as SCN does in California. In Texas, Blakemore & Associates oversaw Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick’s victory last year; in Florida, Front Line Strategies in Tallahassee spearheaded Republican Mitt Romney ’s presidential campaign in the state in 2012.
Allen Blakemore routinely tells people that he’s “living the dream” when they began conversations with the standard questions about how the world is treating him and what he’s been doing. But the veteran Houston political strategist probably has been having to pinch himself quite a bit lately to be certain that the dream that’s been under way for the past several months is for real.
