Allen Blakemore launched Houston-based Blakemore & Associates in 1988 and, together with his wife Elizabeth, today they provide a complete range of political services - specializing in strategy, tactical implementation, and fundraising - to a blue chip clientele. The firms' clients range from leading federal, state, county, and city candidates, to well established civic associations, to some of the largest and most respected Texas corporations.
Allen's proven track record ranks him among the very top political consultants in Texas. Over the past two decades, his general consulting clients have won 307 of 355 campaigns, an 86 percent success rate. During the most recent 2009-2010 election cycle, for example, Allen directed campaigns for 18 local and statewide candidates - winning 16. In 2004, he also expanded the firm's offerings to include governmental relations consulting and lobbying.

As a respected authority on Republican campaigns, Allen is a frequently quoted source in the national and local media. Moreover, his creative talents have twice earned "Pollie Awards" from the American Association of Political Consultants; and his work for the 1994 Robert Eckels for Harris County Judge campaign was judged by the Newspaper Association of America to be among the "50 of the Best Political Newspaper Ads". Allen was recently listed as one of the top 50 most influential Republican figures in Texas politics and government by “Campaigns and Elections”. The list identified the top 50 Democrats and top 50 Republicans that have dramatically influenced Texas politics in the last year.
Prior to founding Blakemore & Associates, Allen served U.S. Senators John Tower and Phil Gramm as Regional Director for West Texas operations. In 1985, he was selected as a fellow at the National Republican Congressional Committee's Republican Campaign Academy.
Active in his community, Allen has served as citywide Chairman of the Neighborhood Watch Program, and is the past President of the Sentinel Club - an organization that raises money to benefit West University Place public safety officers. He was also appointed by the West University City Council to be the Vice-Chairman of the Bond Committee. He is also a Life-Member of the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo, and serves as Captain on the World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest Committee. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Houston's Central Pregnancy Care Center.
A third generation Texan, Allen graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in Economics and International Trade. He and Elizabeth - and their daughters, Charlotte and Sarah - are active members of St. John The Divine Episcopal Church. Allen is an active hunter and sport shooter, and is triple certified by the National Rifle Association as an instructor in rifle, pistol and shotgun.
